Choir Trainer / Organist

Barry Rose

Dr Barry Rose is recognised worldwide as possibly the finest choir-trainer of the past 60 years.

Dr Rose was formerly director of the choirs at the Cathedrals of Guildford, St Alban’s and St Paul’s. He directed the music at many Royal occasions, most notably the wedding of Charles and Diana, as well as the Silver Jubilee of HM The Queen.

He now spends much of his time in workshops with choirs in Britain and the USA, and continues his work as a freelance organist and broadcaster. His many recordings cover a wide range of music, from the traditional church repertoire to the original soundtrack for The Snowman and he has the unique distinction amongst church musicians of holding one platinum, three gold and two silver discs!

Recently, he has been guest director of Princeton University Choir and is Choral Advisor to Novello. Dr Rose will be conducting our Coronation Evensong and our Youth course for young choristers aged 9-14.
