[/vc_column_text][qodef_separator position=”left” color=”#000000″ width=”32″ thickness=”6″ top_margin=”24″][vc_column_text]A multi-streamed approach throughout the week centred around the University of Sydney and St Andrew’s Cathedral School will culminate in two exciting events in the City’s premiere venue; Sydney Town Hall.
All participants will sing and play in the ‘Prom Praise’ concert with the Gospel Orchestra of Sydney and Festival Choir, conducted by Professor Noel Tredinnick CBE, with Paris’ Thomas Ospital on the famous Sydney Town Hall Grand Organ.
All participants will sing in the performance of Bach’s immortal ‘St Matthew Passion’ – commonly regarded as the greatest piece of Sacred Music ever composed. Professional Soloists and orchestra will be selected from the finest players of the Sydney Orchestras, the National Youth Choir of Australia will be singing the inner choruses and the work will be conducted by Dr David Hill, director of London’s Bach Choir and Yale’s Sacred Schola Cantorum.
Throughout the week lecture-demonstrations, services, seminars, recitals, flash choirs, workshops, and concerts will be held at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney Town Hall, HillSong Waterloo, St James King St, The QVB, St Philip’s Church Hill, St Mary’s Cathedral, Christ Church St Laurence and St Andrew’s Cathedral School, Sydney Grammar School and Sydney University.
Come and sing Evensong with King’s College Cambridge’s Stephen Cleobury, get professional teacher’s accreditation from conducting masterclasses with the world’s finest teachers, learn the organ from scratch, or take it to diploma level.
There is a separate Children’s Choir, maximum of 50 places for under 14s, run by acknowledged experts from Australia and overseas. Generous Scholarship funds are available to deserving recipients.
There is a seperate stream for church leaders, pastors and ministers, partly using the brilliant course ‘Strengthen for Service’ with Rev.
